Researcher

Leading a battery research group with a focus on developing more sustainable, safer and environmentally-friendly electrode and electrolyte materials. In particular, we study electrolyte decomposition and interfacial reactions for various materials and battery technologies, typically employing surface analysis techniques like X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Current projects on non-flammable liquid electrolytes, interface stabilisation, polymeric artificial SEI layers, biobased electrolytes, and microwave heating for battery production.

Teaching (and course responsible) in various materials chemistry and battery-related courses at Uppsala University as well as for Dalarna University, Luleå University of Technology, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

Previously participated in EU projects: BIG-MAP , SIMBA , ECO2LIB , CoFBAT , COBRA , HYDRA , LiRichFCC , SintBat, Sirius, ALIM.

Working with industrially-funded research projects, developing next-generation silicon anodes, and investigating oxygen-redox processes in cathodes for lithium-ion batteries. Collaborations with University of Bath and Oxford Physics department. Focus on battery testing, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy.
